December 2nd, 2008 by Matt DuncanA recent article in The Economist covers a study by Dr. Kees Keizer and his colleagues at the University of Groninge where they deliberately created areas with rampant vandalism, litter, and minor crime. In these environments ordinary citizens were up to twice as likely to steal or litter.
