I’m left with a handful of open browser tabs to pass along today, among them:

  • The U.S. Postal Service continues to find itself in deeper shit, announcing layoffs of nearly 1,500 people across the country.
  • The Daily News says, “a Ball State University student faces a felony charge after police said he tried to use $17 to bribe his way out of an operating a vehicle while intoxicated arrest.” (We’re a day late on this one, but it’s worthy.)
  • Blago et al. are 19 counts of indictment deep for a “wide-ranging scheme to deprive the people of Illinois of honest government.”
  • A majority of Republicans were for – and only eight Democrats opposed – a House bill enabling the Food and Drug Administration to regulate tobacco ads and sales. And newspapers thought they were fucked before …
  • Speaking of the media, CNN’s Political Ticker says some journalists dialing into a conference call for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security Advisor Jim Jones were instead greeted with, “Do you have any hidden desires? If you feel like getting nasty, then you came to the right place.” Sort of reminded them of a Palin call, I’m assuming …
