… that’s the number of posts (present included) I’ve accumulated on this blog since its inception on Feb. 18, 2003, my senior year of high school.

Behold, the uber-witty (in high school terms) first post at 9:50 p.m.:

Alright, here we are… I’ve taken BS to a whole new world: cyber-space. They say they created these things for those whole aren’t that HTML-literate. We’ll, I happen to have a fair knowledge of web building language (HTML) and look to use it on this site, mainly to get rid of this god-awful template they’ve made me use.

Fasten your seat belts: this is going to be a ride….

… now if only I could find the damn spell cheque….

I started blogging – not that you care – after learning about some Pyra Labs company getting purchased by a search engine named Google. Pyra created a tool called Blogger, and I was intrigued. Soon I had a domain purchased – thanks to a gracious tech-savvy uncle – and was blogging away. Little did I know I was stepping in on the ground level of the push-button-publishing trend that would revolutionize the media industry.

Blogger continues to power this blog today. It’s been a great service, but it’s no longer what I need given where this site and blog is heading.

There are major changes in store, and these changes require some downtime. BewilderedSociety.com will be off-line for some of the next week while we make some changes. For a short time, archives will remain up at the web.bsu.edu spot this blog has called home.

Don’t fret: We’ll return shortly. And this time I really mean “we.”

The letter-board sign outside the church’s entrance reads:

I KISSED A GIRL
AND I LIKED IT
THEN I WENT TO HELL

Anyone who can text message a sentence in under 15 seconds knows that message is a direct response to Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl.”

The Dispatch article includes this ground-breaking line, by the way:

The song, which has topped the charts and become an international hit, is about a girl kissing another girl.
