Bud Light cans around the country are changing colors – 27 different color combinations in all – around college areas and regions, WSJ.com reports.

At least 25 schools have formally asked Anheuser-Busch to drop the campaign near their campuses, Mr. Siegal says. In recent letters, the University of Michigan’s lawyers threatened legal action for alleged trademark infringement, demanding that Anheuser-Busch not sell the “maize and blue” cans in the “entire state.” The University of Colorado, Oklahoma State University, Texas A&M University and Boston College have also told the company to stop distribution near their campuses, citing trademark issues and concern about student alcohol use.

A statewide tax increase on booze (and beer) is in the works here in Indiana. The measure would also raise hotel, food and drink costs in Marion County. A state Senate committee OK’d the bill 10-2 today.

The cost to the common drinker, courtesy Fort Wayne’s Journal Gazette:

Alcohol taxes are figured per gallon and essentially would double for beer, wine and liquor. This would mean an additional 26 cents per case of beer; 9 cents per bottle of wine and 53 cents per fifth of liquor.

In the grand history of e-mail no one has ever sent a drunken message and remained proud of said message the morning after.

What’s a horned or angry drunk to do?

You can’t pull back the e-mail, but you can certainly make it harder than hell to send it! Insert Google’s latest proof that they know their market: Gmail Mail Goggles:

When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you’re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you’re in the right state of mind?

Alas! World peace! Or at least noticeably less drama in the morning.
