Take a look at the latest Glenn Beck non-apology. In the video, which is from Wednesday's Glenn Beck Live, he addresses the sponsorship woes as part of the "War on Glenn Beck". Gawker, among others, seems to think this is Beck's swan song and that he will soon be leaving Fox News due to the loss of sponsorship dollars. Sadly, I doubt that is the case.

Take a look at the latest Glenn Beck non-apology. In the video, which is from Wednesday’s Glenn Beck Live, he addresses the sponsorship woes as part of the “War on Glenn Beck”. Gawker, among others, seems to think this is Beck’s swan song and that he will soon be leaving Fox News due to the loss of sponsorship dollars. Sadly, I doubt that is the case. Here’s an sample of his ravings (see the whole thing here):

They can take my job and they can take my wealth but that’s okay….even if the powers to be, right now, succeed in making me poor, drum me out, and I’m just a worthless loser… which I’m just about that much above that now… I will only be stronger for it.

When watching the video, I was struck with a thought. You know, to some one crazy enough, this might be inspiring. This might motivate those people who, for whatever the reason, believe what Glenn Beck is selling. That despite the knowledge that Glenn Beck is insane, some people might look for him to lead them. We, of course, know this is true. We have seen the evidence. We don’t understand it because we are looking–no, scratch that, we are hearing Glenn Beck in a totally different way than his fans.

When Glenn Beck supporters watch this video, this is what they hear:

They don’t hear a madman, a raving nutjob that is a modern-day real life Howard Beale. No, they hear him as a noble leader being persecuted for what he believes in–what they believe in. And guess what, there’s a lot of crazy in America.

When I watch that video, I hear this:

It’s all a matter of soundtrack, I suppose.

The pilot leaves you wanting more, as well it should. If you enjoy the Journey and “Rehab” covers, they’re all available on iTunes by searching “Glee.”

However, this clip is unique because this is the first Aaron Sorkin clip in the history of Aaron Sorkin clips to have no dialogue in it. From Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’s only season comes this entry, with ‘O Holy Night’ by the City of New Orleans.

As teased in today’s column, we’ve got a few extra songs that didn’t make the cut for the big show.

Here’s a goody from the business files, set the the tune of “The Little Drummer Boy.”

Come, they told me
da rum dum dum dum
On University
da rum dum dum dum
Myles has to be…
da rum dum dum dum
rum dum dum dum
rum dum dum dum

Come, they told me
da rum dum dum dum
On University
da rum dum dum dum
Miles has to be…
da rum dum dum dum
rum dum dum dum
rum dum dum dum
Rent’s too high
da rum dum dum dum
Businesses die.

We’ve got more … below the fold.

Here’s a short classic devoted to the stresses of Finals Week. This tune, backed against the beat of “I’ll be home for Christmas” always makes things a little brighter.

I’ll be fucked this Finals Week
You can count on that
Please don’t call, or ask to ball
‘cuz I won’t have time to chat

We celebrate the emptiness of campus during the holiday season with this tune, set to “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”

It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the douchebags ‘a missing
and frat boys and freshmen
have all disappeared
It’s the most wonderful time of the year

The streets will be empty
parking spaces a ‘plenty
and no lines out at the bars.
The beer will be flowin’ even
when it’s a snowin’ and
no one is towing our cars!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With school out of season
it stands just for reason
to drink some more beeeeeer
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
