The entire rant, transcribed below via Examiner.com:

Mika, you need to buck up. I know you think this story has no purpose other than keeping Sarah Paln’s name in the headlines for another news cycle.

I know you think she has nothing to offer the national dialogue, and that her speeches are just coded talking points mixed in with words picked up at random from thesaurus.

I know you think Sarah Palin is at best a self-promoting ignoramus, and at worst a shameless media troll who will abuse any platform to deliver dog whistle encouragement to a far-right base, that may include possible insurrectionists.

I know you think her reality show was pathetically unstatesmenlike, and at the same I know you think it represents the pinnacle of her potential, and that her transparent desperation to become a celebrity so completely eclipsed her interest in public service so long ago that there would be more journalistic integrity in reporting on one of the lesser Kardashian’s a#& implants.

I know, I know that when you arrive at the office each day you say a prayer that maybe, just maybe, Sarah Palin will shut up for just ten f*&cking minutes.

I know, I know because I can see it in your eyes.

But guess what Mika, that’s the gig. It’s only January of 2011 kido. You still have at least two years ahead of you. You want to stay in this game you dig deep. You find another gear. You show up to work every day, get your hair and makeup done. You slap on a smile. You get on T.V., and repeat what Sarah Palin said on Hannity last night right into the lens. You know, news.

I have faith in you kid, you can do it. I’ll see you in New Hampshire. I’ll buy.

MSNBC may not be the best cable news network, but it’s quickly becoming the most entertaining. In response to a non-story about David Letterman making a joke about Sarah Palin dressing like a slutty flight attendant (video of the top ten list). Contessa Brewster then invited radio host John Ziegler, who had conducted an interview with Sarah Palin and asked about the Letterman incident. Watch as Brewer tries to keep the interview an interview for four minutes when it’s clear this guy just wants to bash NBC on NBC.

For his part, David Letterman said before the top ten list that he didn’t even know Palin was going to be in town and issued an apology, stating that the joke was about Bristol, not Willow Palin. Furthermore, he reminds people that he’s a comic and he doesn’t always have the best taste.

But the real story here is John Ziegler who makes a complete ass of himself on live television because he disagrees with people. This is the problem with debate in the country, and is really a microcosm for all the problems with the Republican Party at the moment. Brewer shows herself to be open and willing to talk with him about the actual content of the interview, and tries to ask some questions. Ziegler responds by insulting her, her network, the media in general and basically does everything but answer the questions he’s asked. Rather than sit down and have a conversation as to why David Letterman would make such a joke and why Sarah Palin would call attention to it by actually responding to it, he proceeds to accuse NBC and CBS of–basically–being in a liberal conspiracy. What Ziegler must realize is that NBC would never do anything to give favors to David Letterman. The late night ratings battle is one of the most long lasting feuds on television. And Letterman may have the upper hand again.

But even Sarah Palin’s bizarre reaction to being made fun of by Letterman can’t compare to Rush Limbaugh’s reaction Brewer letting Ziegler trash her network for four minutes on the air. Now that’s funny.

A 15-year-old girl in the UK gave birth Thursday to the daughter of her now-13-year-old baby daddy (who was not a teenager at the time of conception), according to The Sun.

I know the checklist that’s going through your head right now: Sad? Sure. Disappointing? Obviously. A little puke-in-the-mouth inducing? That’s a given. Glad they’re British and not American? Of course.

But creepy? In the world today – which was hand-crafted by Madonna and Michael Jackson – it’s hardly as creepy as those Friday the 13th movies (irony noted) or the first time you saw The Blair Witch Project (it’s been enough time, now, so you can admit that you felt a chill when you saw the girl with her nose in the corner in that haunted dungeon thing).

Yeah, I know, it seems like a sad-but-not-creepy story … until you SEE the kid!

[photo: Lee Thompson, via The Sun]

Click here for full coverage — and more disturbing pictures.

He doesn’t look old enough to have functioning reproductive organs, let alone a living, breathing, pooping offspring! If he were Chinese, he’d be told he was too young for the gymnastics team! And at 4’ tall, he certainly was not tall enough to ride her ride! Okay, I’m done.

Anyway, both the boy and his father (grand-baby-daddy) are using the defense that it was his first time and he – legitimately – didn’t really understand where babies came from. And the new parents have promised to “be good” and take care of their daughter, which is nice since if they didn’t they’d probably be grounded … actually, as young as he looks, it might just be a time-out.

Sarah Palin and the anti-(sex-)education/pro-life crazies: 1

Rational humans: 0
